Easter Weekend, part 2
........We decided to take the max train down town, this was an adventure; from learning to use the ticket vending machine to having to get off the max because of road work (we took a shuttle to the next stop than got onto another max train). Walking around downtown was fun and after a little help from a jewlry shop guy we ended up at a wings resturant (wanted a little snack & drink) for the last 15 minutes of the blazer playoff game (which was in Portland and explained why the max & downtown was so busy). The walls of this resturant were covered with tv's and we had a great time watching the end of the game with everyone else in the resturant. The Blazer's came back from being about 12 points down when we got there and they won the game.
After that we walked back to Pioneer Square where there was lots of stuff going on and Ernie enjoyed jumping in and playing Hacky Sack with a few guys. William thought it looked like great fun and I told him we would look for a hacky sack for him in the morning. We got back on the max train and headed back to the hotel.
We had reservations for dinner at Gustav's that night so that William could try fondue as part of his birthday trip. It was late and we were all exhausted from walking all day but we had a great time at dinner. If you have never eaten at Gustav's in Portland and get a chance you should. When you have dinner in The Rheinlander portion of the resturant there are people singing and a guy playing the accordian. They also wear costumes of the era/area. We also enjoyed some wonderful dessert!
Unfortunetly I didn't take the camera downtown with me so there are no pictures from this part of the trip.
In the morning we were happy that the Easter Bunny had found William at the hotel. :) We had breakfast than let William swim in the pool for awhile. Then we got loaded up and ready to head home. I wanted to stop at a few places before we left Portland, but because of the holiday the only one that was open was Sports Authority, where we were able to find a hacky sack for William.
Between Biggs, OR and Arlington, OR along the freeway you can sometimes see Big Horn Sheep, so we enjoy looking for them everytime we drive through there. On the way home I asked Ernie to stop if we see them and can stop safely. We did see one big group of Rams and below are the pictures I was able to take!

We were able to get home early enough on Easter to go to my Mom's house for a couple hours to visit with the family.

I can't tell you how many times I've gotten somewhere without my camera, kind of frustrating when you want photographic evidence of the experience. Sounds like a great weekend! Our kids love the sheep too.
