My youngest, William is 8 today!  What a great day for him, he was so excited last night that he couldn't get to sleep.  Lets hope he doesn't get too tired today. Cake at Nana's after work with the cousins, then a steak feed with mom and dad at the Elks.

One the 1st Saturday of each month The Home Depot hosts a kids workshop were they can build a project for free.  We forgot to go in January but we remembered this month and William built a heart shaped shelf.  He decided to give that shelf to Grace Gregory (classmate & "best friend" in 2nd grade class), it was very sweet. William also is playing basket ball and every Saturday spends 1 1/2 hours between practicing and playing a game.  He is enjoying it though says it is very hard to run up and down the court so much. Ernie and I went on a Valentine's date this year.  The Elks had a Valentine dinner & dance.  We had a wonderful time.  We danced the night away (all the way to midnight)!!!  I don't think that we have gone dancing since the night we met 12 years ago, it was a great night.  Though we paid for it in the next couple weeks, it sucks to have your body get old. This month wasn't too busy but seem to fly by.  There was pinochle with my parents a few times.  Also Ernie spent alot of time getting ready for the Elks Hoop Shoot that he is in charge of.  In Nov/Dec he got packets out to all the schools in the area and they had their hoop shoot contests.  Ernie compiled all the results and then on the 15th we spent the day at Sandstone Middle School doing the hoop shoot (with lots of other Elks volunteers) which had the winners from all the area schools competing against each other.  They each got to shoot a total of 23 free throws at two different stations and the person with the highest number of baskets for each age group went on to the next level. Ernie did it all again on the 15th for the district level of the hoop shoot.  What fun!  We had two girls from Hermiston go on to the state competition.

I am not sure what I am doing but have always thought about having a blog so why not.  So much has already happened this year that I am going to try and go back to the beginning of the year and then we will see if I can keep it up to date.  Wish me luck!!!!
